People’s Assembly for Palestine
OLYMPIA, WA. — The Palestine Action of the South Sound (PASS) invites you to participate in the People’s Assembly for Palestine on Saturday, October 19, 2024 at 10 a.m. (doors at 9 a.m.), at The Evergreen State College (TESC) inside Purce Hall.
The People’s Assembly on Palestine will begin with a keynote address from US-Palestinian journalist Ramzy Baroud entitled, “Reanimating Palestine: Why is Gaza the Heart of Palestinian Resistance.” Ramzy Baroud is the author of six books including, My Father the Freedom Fighter. He is the Editor of Palestine Chronicle (1999 - present), and former Deputy Managing Editor of Al Jazeera online. Baroud will take the podium at 10 a.m. and conclude his lecture with a Q & A.
The intention of the assembly, which ends at 5:30 p.m., is not just educational but to forge connections between different solidarity organizations and help steer people toward collective movement-building and direct action.
Following our keynote will be two sets of interactive workshops. Facilitators will include PASS members and other Pro-Palestinian organizers from the Pacific Northwest. The first set takes place in the morning, the second set takes place in the afternoon. In between the two 90-minute workshops, there will be a potluck lunch.
Attendance is free of charge and child-care will be provided. Masking is encouraged.
