MOVEMENT MAG II LAUNCH PARTY AND FUNDRAISER

MOVEMENT MAG II LAUNCH PARTY AND FUNDRAISER

OLYMPIA, WA | June 8, 2024

Since October 7, 2023, with the support of the US government, Israel has committed countless acts of violence toward besieged Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank. As the ongoing genocide continues to escalate, we are repeatedly called to ask ourselves, what we can do?

PASS (Palestine Action of the South Sound) is a coalition of local volunteers organizing work teams dedicated to different areas of focus: Legislative, Fundraising, Outreach/Education, among others. Various projects and actions have been performed in an effort to carry out and sustain pressure for lasting peace and humanitarian aid while also spreading awareness and growing a local movement for change in US foreign policy.

Inspired by a sold out benefit concert headlined by Bikini Kill on behalf of the Rachel Corrie Foundation and Palestinian Children's Relief Fund, the PASS Outreach and Education Committee released a zine called Movement Mag in conjunction with a Kimya Dawson event in February. Movement Mag is a project bringing together different voices and perspectives within the local movement for Palestine. Movement Mag documents the process of movement building, collectivizes learnings and provides a space for deep engagement and reflection.

The first issue of Movement Mag was a call into the void, to see who was out there thinking about Palestine. With this second issue, Movement Mag is saying, "we found each other and are now asking":

  1. Where are we at?
  2. How did we get here?
  3. Where are we going?
  4. How do we get there?

Please join PASS at the Olympia Ballroom for a night of festivities! You will have an opportunity to make donations that have a direct impact through Rachel Corrie Foundation by purchasing the zine, participating in a raffle or by making direct contributions; connect with members of the community, and eat delicious food. The evening is jammed packed with activities, musical performances and educational speeches.
