From Ground Zero is Palestine's official submission for the 2025 Academy Awards, it is a collection of revealing stories from 22 Palestinian filmmakers living through war, who capture their lives in Gaza amidst war.

Following the screening, there will be a discussion/Q&A with Dr. Mimi Syed and Dr. Steve Niva.

Dr. Syed, is an Emergency Medicine Physician from the Olympia area who served in Gaza twice in 2024, most recently in December, and who has been featured on Democracy Now! and NPR.

Dr. Steve Niva is a professor in International Politics and Middle Eastern Studies at The Evergreen State College.
